New assembly line at Assmann Büromöbel

26. April 2018

The famous office furniture manufacturer ASSMANN from Melle, Germany will in future assemble its office cabinets on an extremely flexible and almost fully automated assembly line of Priess & Horstmann. Up to now ASSMANN had produced each type of cabinet on a line of its own. The proportion of manual work was high. On the other hand, the new system

that is currently being set up can process a mix of tambour, wing or sliding door cabinets and will replace the previous production lines at the end of the third quarter of 2018.

A highly flexible fully automated carcase press is the heart of the new assembly line at Assmann Büromöbel

Just In Time production by tour

With an output of one cabinet per minute the system is considerably more productive than the old assembly lines. In addition, the proportion of manual transport was minimized. This preserves the workpieces and reduces the amount of damage. Furthermore, the line offers the Just In Time production by tour of the cabinets: It takes less than one shift for the transport of the final assembled cabinetfrom the final assembly zone to the loading onto a truck.
